Wright's Gourmet House celebrates 61 years in Tampa

Pearce and his wife, an art teacher had met Wright when they lived in Akron and talked with him about their move to California. When they got to California, they contacted him and commissioned a design. Wright drafted plans in 1955 and construction began in 1955. Visitors included photographer Edward Weston, Martha Graham, architect Richard Neutra, bandleader Xavier Cugat, and actor Clark Gable. In 1986, after 61 years of residence, the Freemans donated their house to the University of Southern California’s School of Architecture. Maintained by the University, the building was stabilized in 2005 and is undergoing additional renovations due to earthquake damage.

The History of New Year’s Day

“It’s a really modern house, yet it uses ancient forms,” said Michael Wyetzner, architect at Michielli + Wyetzner Architects, in the newest episode of Blueprints, a YouTube series for AD. In the video, Wyetzner breaks down the Ennis House’s role in House on Haunted Hill, as well as the role of five other properties featured in horror films. “It doesn’t have a very domestic scale, it almost looks like it could be a museum or other type of religious building,” he said. “In just a minute, I’ll show you the only really haunted house in the world,” Watson Pritchard, played by Elisha Cook Jr., says in the movie. Preserving LA’s one-and-only UNESCO World Heritage site is an ongoing effort, and the work began almost immediately after Frank Lloyd Wright completed construction in 1921.

Timeline

Wright’s Prairie style was uniquely American, inspired by the flat plains of the Midwest, and essentially acted as the catalyst for Modern architecture. The style featured horizontal lines, open floor plans, cantilevered roofs, clerestory windows, unfinished materials, and the integration of interior and exterior environments. Cupcakes, sheet cake, or our signature layered cakes (Alpine, Chocolate, Carrot, Red Velvet, Hawaiian Princess, Lemon, Coconut, Peanut Butter Chocolate, Rum)… And if it’s too much for now, slice it up, freeze it and save it for later. “In 1976 my grandmother and my sister, Mindy, created this delicious sandwich,” writes the owner on the menu. “Widely imitated, our Beef Martini could never be duplicated! The Alpine Cake seems to be the common denominator for many 5-star reviews.

With the site secured, the commission grew to include plans for the theater, a cinema, artist residences, commercial shops, two guest houses, and a residence for Barnsdall. For Hollyhock House, Barnsdall asked Wright to incorporate her favorite flower, the hollyhock, into the home’s design. The motif can be seen in cast stonework, art glass, furniture and textiles. The home was built on a steep hillside and was often compared to a Pompeiian villa at the time of its construction. Lush landscaping further enhanced its exoticism, providing an illusion of a ruin barely visible within its jungle environment.

They had lots of ambition and sought to be the best by offering the best. The original restaurant was located in a tiny storefront with second-hand equipment, and offered imported and domestic delicacies, fresh coffees and teas, exotic spices, unusual cheeses, fresh-roasted meats and big wheel sandwiches. Frank Lloyd Wright revolutionized how we live and build.

If you want to know what it’s like inside, watch this video of Martha Stewart touring the house with Eric Wright. The Storer House is notable for its richly textured concrete walls and is the only of its kind to employ multiple patterns on its blocks (four in all). The house is about 3,000 square feet, with three bedrooms, three baths, and  two outdoor terraces. Perhaps two terraces was a thing for Wright, as all of his Los Angeles homes seem to have them.

In July 2018, real estate website Zillow estimated its value at $2.1 million. The lot covers 79 acres, and the two-bedroom house is listed at 2,486 square feet. I know what you’re thinking, how could 79 acres in Malibu, literally a short stroll from Malibu Wines, be estimated at jsut $2.1 million? If you’ve ever seen Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Day of the Locust, or Blade Runner, then you’ve also seen the Ennis House. In the films, the property is used to depict a vampire mansion, a private residence, and an apartment building respectively.

The walls, constructed of 12,000 cast concrete blocks, are textured on both the interior and exterior to create a unified decorative scheme. Large windows, balconies and terraces make the modest home feel expansive. Of course, though large, it was designed as a residential property. Located in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles, Wright designed the home in the early ’20s for Charles and Mabel Ennis, owners of a local men’s clothing store. The home is one of four that makes use of Wright’s textile block system, which is constructed from precast, interlocked concrete blocks.

Hot food must be hot and cold food must be cold. That’s why Wright’s uses its own fleet of temperature-controlled vehicles to ensure your food is as fresh as possible when it arrives. We are proud to say we’re one of the few in this area who have made this investment in equipment to take care of your health and well-being.

The central workspace is rectangular in shape and opens onto a terrace. The living room has one curved wall facing the promenade, and the wing containing bedrooms and bath have curved front and back walls. Frank Lloyd Wright is often called America’s finest architect. There’s a reason he’s not known as “Los Angeles’s best architect” as one might call some of our mid-century masters like John Lautner, or Rudolph Schindler, Paul Williams, or even Wright’s own son, Lloyd Wright. The reason is because Wright’s body of work consisted of homes and structures all over the United States (not to mention abroad), including states like New York, New Jersey, Wisconsin, Arizona, and more. Wright’s oeuvre truly spans the globe and, in fact, he built just eight houses in LA.

In 1927, Barnsdall donated the residence and its surrounding 11 acres of land to the City of Los Angeles so that it could be used as a public park in memory of her father. Hollyhock House is now part of the Barnsdall Art Park Foundation, and the park is used for art classes, working studios, a gallery, and a theatre – returning full circle to Barnsdall’s original ambitions for the site. Wright began his career working as a draftsman for the firm of Joseph Lyman Silsbee. In 1888, he was hired by the firm of Adler & Sullivan, where he was mentored by legendary architect Louis Sullivan. In classic Wright fashion, he had a bitter falling out with Sullivan and left the firm in 1893.

The striking interior loggia has a mausoleum-like marble floor and links to the multi-level interior spaces. The grand living room has easy outdoor access through a pair of – what would you call these? Features also include geometric leaded glass windows, custom light fixtures, concrete columns, coffered ceilings,  hardwood floors, and walls of mosaic tile. The Ennis House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971. The landmarked residence has been featured in dozens of films, television shows, fashion shoots and music videos including Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Twin Peaks, Mulholland Drive, and, most famously, 1982’s Blade Runner. The house looks typically mid-century modern from the outside, but inside the interiors are typical Wright.

They go on to say that the LA Times reported the final sale price as $6.8 million. That record will obviously be broken once Ennis House sells. Through its almost 100-year existence, the house has the interesting distinction of appearing in countless Hollywood productions (more than 80, according to the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation). This house is privately owned and not available for tours. Whether celebrating or simply getting down to business, Wright’s offers assorted sandwich platters, extravagant dessert platters, party salads, lunch boxes, breakfast trays and much more.

Now, we can say “yes” to much more than before, with private event space for banquets, business meetings and parties, in addition to our thriving catering and delivery business.

Sturges House, 1939

Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1923 and constructed in 1924, the home has made more than 80 onscreen appearances throughout its near century-long existence, according to the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation. However, it was the home’s feature in House on Haunted Hill in 1959 that brought it into ghoulish acclaim. The Wilbur C. Pearce House located at the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains is made of simple concrete block, with a dramatic, cantilevered roof covering the carport. Wilbur Pearce was a businessman who moved to Los Angeles in the mid-1940s to work for Firestone Tire and Rubber Company.

In honor of his masterpiece Ennis House hitting the market recently, we’ll take a closer look at Wright’s philosophy of organic architecture and all eight of his Los Angeles homes, masterpieces all. California captivated both Barnsdall and Wright, and here the architect had the opportunity to develop a new regional expression, which broke from the acclaimed Prairie style he had developed in the Midwest. He took inspiration from building precedents native to the Southwest—the Pre-Hispanic and the Pueblo. The Sturges House is Usonian in style, uncluttered with only two bedrooms and one bath and less than 1,200 square feet. In fact, its 54-foot-long cantilevered terraces are almost larger than the living area.

Some may say this is Wright’s least famous of the four textile block homes. Perhaps that’s because from the street the house is seemingly hidden behind a system of Wright’s textile blocks, as the house itself sits on a steep hillside and the rest of the house extends to two additional levels down the slope. Wright’s resulting $10,000 commission (and, in a story that played out over and over again between Wright and his clients, the final bill went way over budget, at $23,000) takes full advantage of the precarious Hollywood Hills site.

What put Wright’s on the map originally was the Beef Martini Sandwich. Nearly 60 years later, it’s still a proverbial crowd pleaser. With rare roast beef, mushrooms marinated in white wine and crisp bacon slices with Wright’s own garlic and herb spread on buttercrust white bread. In 1981, Jeff Mount purchased Wright’s from his grandparents and has been carrying on their legacy for over 40 years.

In recent years, the City of Los Angeles has undertaken transformative restoration projects at both Hollyhock House and Residence A, the Wright-designed guesthouse also in Barnsdall Park. It’s also famous for its decadent cakes and desserts, which weren’t part of the menu back in 1963. We’ve taken tremendous pride in the food we serve for nearly 60 years. We work with the finest, freshest ingredients to deliver an experience that’s second to none. It’s the little things we do right – from how we season and roast our top round of beef to our signature sauces and outrageous desserts, all baked in house. Burns, Leland S , House, Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles, CA

leeland house

Built in 1856, the mansion was formerly the residence of Leland Stanford, 8th Governor of California and founder of Stanford University. The Stanford family donated the estate to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Sacramento in 1900, which maintained a children's home on the estate until 1978. Subsequently, the Californian government purchased the property to serve as the Californian capital's ceremonial reception center and as a state park, officially known as the Leland Stanford Mansion State Historic Park. Since then, the MAK Center has dedicated the house to small-scale events and the lodging of international cultural researchers visiting Los Angeles for artistic and scholarly pursuits.

Residents live and work in the Mackey Apartments, and present projects in exhibitions at the end of their term in March and September. The MAK Center is a unique constellation of modern buildings designed by architect R.M. Between 1871 and 1872, the Stanford family embarked on an ambitious remodeling of the residence.

RESIDENCY PROGRAM

The MAK Center works in cooperation with the Friends of the Schindler House (FoSH), a nonprofit organization whose mission is to preserve and maintain Schindler's Kings Road house in West Hollywood. Schindler as a model home in 1936, the Fitzpatrick-Leland House serves as the MAK Center’s Study Center. The mid-century architectural work is home to an international residency, research library, and curatorial headquarters. Through intimate programming and research-based residencies, the Study Center cultivates interdisciplinary inquiry and engaged dialogue centering on contemporary issues relating to art and architecture. Visitors are invited to move, observe, and perceive the house through instructional exercises, fictional meanderings, and guided journeys. The repairs and restoration were completed in 2005, when the mansion opened to the public. California State Parks offers guided tours through the fully refurbished home. The Leland Stanford Mansion is physically accessible, including the gardens, Visitor Center and restrooms. Leland Stanford, president of the Central Pacific Railroad (one of the Big Four tycoons) and a rising member of the Republican Party, purchased the home for $8,000 (equivalent to $271,000 in 2023) in June 1861, shortly before his election as California governor that year.

Accurate restoration of the home and its rooms was aided by both an extensive study of the home in 1986 through the Historic American Buildings Survey, and through a large collection of photographs of the home taken in 1868 by Alfred A. Hart, and again in 1872 by Eadweard Muybridge.

Tours of the mansion are offered daily but can be impacted by official functions on behalf of the Governor's Office or the California State Legislature leadership. In 1932, the home was handed over the Sisters of Social Service who eventually transformed the mansion from an orphanage to a residence for dependent high school girls. A fire in the mansion in 1940 brought considerable damage to the fourth floor. The Fitzpatrick-Leland House commands a strong presence along the slope of Laurel Canyon and Mulholland Drive, as the three-story terraced scheme captures the eye with its interplay of protruding canopies beneath.

Schindler’s subtle composition of interlocking volumes dominates the experience of interior spaces. The Fitzpatrick-Leland House is currently available for visitations and tours. Beginning in 1991, with the help of Sacramento businessman and former Stanford University professor Peter McCuen, the Stanford Mansion underwent a 14-year renovation at a cost of $22 million ($49.21 million in 2023).

Redfin Estimate for 6526 Leland Way

The Sisters of Social Services would remain on the grounds until 1987, when California State Parks designated the mansion and the immediate surrounding land as a state historic park. Following the state's decision, the National Park Service declared the mansion as a National Historic Landmark on May 28, 1987. It was not until September 2005 that the mansion would finally be open to public tours, after $22 million worth of renovation and rehabilitation.

The original owner and builder of the home was Sacramento merchant Shelton C. Fogus, a wealthy Sacramento building merchant. The Renaissance Revival architecture of the original home is attributed to Seth Babson, who later designed the E.B. Crocker residence and art gallery that are now part of the Crocker Art Museum. The architect Charles W. Moore, then headquartered in New Haven, CT, designed this idiosynchratic dwelling for the urban planner Leland Burns, who taught at both UCLA and Cambridge University. Listen to a series of interpretive audio tours by artists, architects, and writers.

As Stanford had had to attend his gubernatorial inauguration by rowboat in 1862, the home was raised twelve feet in response to frequent flooding from the Sacramento River. In addition, one story was added to both the bottom and top of the mansion. The home was also expanded from 4,000 square feet (370 m2) to 19,000 square feet (1,800 m2), and redesigned to reflect the French Second Empire architecture popular of the period, particularly in the 4th floor Mansard roof that caps the home. The result was a four-story remodeled architectural sandwich in which the original 2-story house sat between the added floors.

The MAK Center for Art and Architecture, Los Angeles is a contemporary, experimental, multi-disciplinary center for art and architecture and is headquartered in three architectural landmarks by the Austrian-American architect Rudolph M. Schindler. Founded in 1994, the MAK Center is a Los Angeles-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization and the California satellite of the MAK – Museum of Applied Arts, Vienna. The core of the programming includes the internationally recognized MAK Artists and Architects-in-Residence Program, an annual residency program for emerging international artists and architects.

During his two-year governorship, the Stanford Mansion served as the state's executive office and living quarters. Succeeding governors Frederick Low and Henry Huntly Haight would also make the mansion their office. Prior to the reopening of the mansion, California did not have a location for the hosting of official functions for nearly 40 years. Today the mansion is frequently used by the Government of California to host foreign dignitaries.

In 2021, the MAK Center initiated the Designers-in-Residence program in partnership with the Danish Art Foundation. The Designers-in-Residence program takes place June - December 2022, with the residents closely integrated into the MAK Center’s programming. The dramatic L-shaped home was originally commissioned by developer Clifton Fitzpatrick as a speculative house, a real estate promotion to attract buyers to the new housing tracts on the hill. Through his efforts, Leland successfully recaptured the spirit of Schindler’s vision. In 2007, he donated the building and property to the MAK Center, insuring its legacy as a historically significant work of architecture. In 1978, the government of California acquired the property for use as a state park.

Finish with hairspray if needed to keep things in place all day. Bold fringe is ideal for men who want a boyish, high-maintenance look without all the work. It all starts with the cut, which is perfectly angled to allow the length to come to a point on one side of the face. The texture on top along with the high taper fade makes this an interesting cut. There’s something uniquely provocative about a man with voluminous hair offset by a short beard, and as this photo shows, it’s sexy and intellectual at the same time. The undercut brings the eyes to the height, which is swept over to one side with tousled fringe and held in place with high-hold products.

The classic undercut is the base of the style, but it’s the flowing bleached-blond pieces that make this cut stand apart from all the rest. It’s textured, it’s messy, and it’s a great way to show off your personality. The term blowout refers to the use of a blow dryer, and while it may sound like a lot of trouble, the result is well worth it. This wavy look can be accomplished by using a pomade on damp hair, then blow drying it back from the top and sides.

How To Add Layers Without Compromising the Perimeter

A star design is a rebellious style that looks out of this world and full of fun personality. The striking helix hair design is a badass option when done properly by a talented barber. Adding shaved lines from back to front gives this short afro a fullness that connects and pulls the entire look together. Have your guy take his time when attempting this look and you’ll be rewarded with a cut as fresh as a rose.

POPULAR HAIRSTYLES

If you want to rest from the maintenance of longer locks, consider a trendy shoulder-grazing cut and enjoy the benefits that come along. We are ready to suggest numerous varieties of bobs, lobs and midi shags. It’s more popular among younger men, but it can be changed in many ways to suit your needs. Flipping the clippers upside down will help you get any stubborn hairs that need to be cut against the grain. Turn on your clippers and point the “teeth” with the blades of the clippers at your head. For straight lines, use the entire head of the clippers with very light pressure.

Long Side Swept Fringe with Low Bald Fade

The unique shape of the cut – and the amazing curly fringe in the front – is nicely paired with short faded sides to make a personal statement. It looks great with the full beard, but it also looks amazing with a clean-shaven face. A long comb over is a trendy men’s style, but when paired with a high fade, the hairstyle truly stands out. Moreover, the comb over fade is always easy to do, especially for men who have thick, stick-straight hair. This short cropped haircut features a taper fade and shaved part to create a stylish and daring look.

Cute and Easy-To-Style Short Layered Hairstyles

Continue this process as you work around the head shape in vertical subsections. Use the cut layers as a guide and make sure to comb each new section on both sides as you elevate it up to the shape of the head. Starting at the center back of the head, pick up a small piece of hair from the bottom of the U-shaped section to use as a guide. Elevate a vertical subsection of hair to the shape of the head and cut it to the length of the guide with your Sam Villa 6.25” Streamline Series Shears. Soften the edges by fanning out the hair and point cutting into the subsection.

Starting at the center back of the head, take a vertical section of hair and elevate it to 45 degrees, pointing your fingers down towards the nape of the neck. This graduated cutting line helps to remove bulk from the perimeter and maintain some weight in the middle for a beautiful beveled shape. A cool way to create a square shape on top is working with a diamond. You’ll be distributing weight and length in the corners of the diamond so you’ll see a degree of shortness on top. Elevation is taken across the top of the head parallel to the floor on the opposite side.

The blade is designed to hold the hair so you’re not pushing it out of the shear while you cut. Find your reference point and take a horizontal finger position there. Now open and close as you talk your way down the hair strand to the perimeter. Start by slicing out a zigzag section above the ear and isolating that section.

Cut along the guide, then fan out the section and point cut into the ends. When you reach the bottom of the section, the fingers of your guide hand should point to where you want to end the frame. Target this area as you finish cutting, then repeat on the other side. During the consultation, identify the facial feature that you want to highlight (such as her cheekbone or jawline). This will serve as the reference point for your face framing pieces.

It doesn’t matter if you’re in a horizontal, vertical or diagonal section, you must be moving the hair up and down, not side to side, in order to create elevation. This bouncy butterfly is ideal for those undaunted by flouncy and feathered layers.

Have your barber shave it on the nape to add a subtle nod to an unconventional look. A hard surgical line design can appear daunting, but the thickness of the line emphasizes your natural boldness. The shape up draws attention to the longer hair on top, and the drop skin fade is just different enough to stand out. Pair it with a short, well-groomed beard for the full effect. As a popular hairstyle, the quiff is a cool look that continues to be a favorite in barbershops around the world.

Long Brushed Back Hair with Undercut

Haircut lines designs are also great for kids, as they’re a super cute way of expressing youthful energy. This style for little ones features a sharp S shape that goes from the front of the head to the back. And since it’s used to separate fade lengths, you do actually get a drop fade as well.

The Power Bob

Not all mohawks are a foot tall, colorful, and gelled into sharp points, and this amazing mohawk fade is the perfect example. Hair in the center stands straight up to form something resembling tousled spikes while the close-cropped fade and short beard adds another dimension of interest. Make your first cut just above your guest’s eye with the Sam Villa Signature Series 7” Dry Cutting Swivel Shear at a slight angle to the grain of the hair. Work through the hair on each side, creating peaks and valleys to develop your desired shape. Once you’ve cut the bangs on each side, move on to the center of the baby fringe. There you have it-- an easy and predictable way to create this trendy look while adding value behind the chair! Watch the video to master this technique for cutting a long curtain fringe or curtain bangs.

A common problem with layered haircuts is inconsistency within the weight balance. We suggest that you examine the element of elevation because that’s one of the key ways to control the shape of the layer. The area of the hairline that has to travel the farthest to touch the perimeter is that little piece at the high point of the ear. Never go shorter than that piece of hair and you’ll avoid the dreaded hole above the ear. Watch the video to learn how to find that safe point and preserve density and length. Take a vertical section, elevate the hair to 90 degrees and cut straight across.

Finish the twist by rotating your non-cutting hand so that your fingers are flat against the forehead while holding the hair. Pick up another diagonal forward section next to the guide section, and elevate both sections together. Slide your hand up the section until you are one finger length past the guide line.

So, it’s the right moment to refresh your haircut, isn’t it? You can go for a completely new style or introduce a trendy twist to your usual cut that you have been wearing for years. To consider which way to go, it won’t be superfluous to be aware of the current hair trends.

Start by brushing your hair up and back to create height and volume in the front. The comb over hairstyle isn’t just for men with longer hair. In fact, all you need to pull off a comb over is a minimum of 3 inches of length.

Watch the video to add this dry cut technique to your styling arsenal. Square the layers off and show the client that you’re cutting the layers even on both sides. Use a blender to soften the sections because these clients want the hair to move. The moment you take a side part that goes back to the crown, the shape of the head creates the illusion of uneven layers. The trick is to stay parallel with the grain of the hair to reduce weight.

To cut the long sides of the curtain fringe, pick up a horizontal section that is framed by the center section, the recession area and the hairline. Elevate this section at a 90° angle to the head shape and grip the hair with a steep diagonal finger angle. Remove the excess length and point cut deep into the hair, using a small piece from the center section as a guide. Continue this process as you work up the head in horizontal sections, then repeat on the opposite side.

Opt for a shape flattering to your face, as these chops may be surprisingly diverse. The classic cropped ‘dos have got a serious style update during the last couple of seasons. Contrasting textures and lengths, undercut sections and customized colors make them unique and bring to light the femininity of the wearer. Not all men are fans of high volume styles, making the crop fade with a fringe a great choice. It’s a classic look with just a hint of texture, and the fringe in front creates a unique finish.

What was once an example of compromise and functioning government has become an ode to bigotry and ignorance. Attacks on reproductive rights, access to basic health care, and efforts to address our country’s history of racism and marginalization of huge swaths of our country will worsen our recruitment and retention crisis, make our military less capable, and do grievous harm to our national defense and national security. There are currently over 200 legislative bodies established in the County of Los Angeles that the Board of Supervisors make appointments to various commissions, committees, and boards.

“In the spirit of compromise, I am not supportive of everything in this bill. However, I continue to be grateful for my colleagues from across the aisle who share the same desire to ensure those who serve and their families—the people who are the heart of our national defense—get the resources and respect they need and deserve. That includes provisions to strengthen the DoD civilian workforce, better support military spouses and military families, and a 5.2% pay raise for service members. “It focuses on the need for federal investment in crucial areas such as force modernization, military readiness, and infrastructure, with important emphasis on recruiting and retention, emerging technologies, and our defense industrial base.

Beyond the United States, fentanyl and other mass-produced synthetic narcotics from the People’s Republic of China (PRC) are devastating nations around the world. Still, as the only committee member with a scheduled weekly news conference — held Tuesday mornings after the Democratic Caucus meets — he’s found himself giving periodic updates of the committee’s work.

At one of the committee’s few public meetings, Luria alleged that the Justice Department slow-walked charges against former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows for being held in contempt of Congress after disobeying a committee subpoena. “The committee has found evidence of concerted planning and premeditated activity. The idea that all of this was just a rowdy demonstration that spontaneously got a little bit out of control is absurd.

As you know, DoS sets key standards and guidelines for the Department of Defense (DoD); such as standardizing diplomatic relations with partner nations; agreeing to security cooperation pacts, like status of forces agreements; and facilitating financial and military aid through numerous programs, such as the U.S. The Armed Services Committee was created as a result of the Legislative Reorganization Act of 1946 following the U.S. victory in World War II. The bill merged the responsibilities of the Committee on Naval Affairs, established in 1816, and the Committee on Military Affairs, also established in 1816. The NDAA tasked the Commission with examining the long-term strategic posture of the United States. The review and assessment by the Commission will include a threat assessment, a detailed review of nuclear weapons policy and strategy of the United States, and recommendations as to the most appropriate strategic posture and most effective nuclear weapons strategy. Per the law, the Commission must submit its final report to Congress and the executive branch by December 31, 2022.

The White House has already proposed a 4.5% pay raise for all troops in 2025 as part of their federal budget request for fiscal 2025. “I’m going to keep fighting to make sure we support military families in this year’s NDAA, including fixing unacceptable child care shortfalls and making sure our troops have the quality, affordable housing they deserve,” she said. “I and my Democratic colleagues will redouble our efforts going forward, and look forward to working with our Senate Colleagues in conference so that Congress fulfills its responsibility to the people who proudly wear the uniform, and our national defense and national security. “Those who have served or are serving with distinction and honor will pay the price.
